Small Town Indiana Girl
I was born in Hartford City, IN. Raised in Montpelier, IN...Where I lived with my mom and dad until I was 19 and moved to the Big Fort...aka Fort Wayne and married my husband, who just got out of the Army. This was 1991, and we have been happily married now nearly 15 years! Right after we got married, I started having problems with my back. And at times I could not walk. I found out years later that I have OA and degenertive disk disease. I now have to use a wheelchair when I am not at home. We moved to Bluffton in 1992 right before our 2nd wedding anniversery, and have been here ever since. I worked at Bluffton Regional Medical Center from 1997 until 2001 and then my husband thought it would be fun to be a semi driver again...he was SO right! I quit my job in the Telecommunications department and went with him. I have seen almost all 50 states and a lot of Canada. We were even in NYC 2 days after 9-11. I tell you it was unreal...the televison showed a lot...but I saw it with my own eyes. On May 22, 2002, while we were in Chanute, Kansas, we had a very bad semi wreck. When the truck came to a stop, I was sitting on my window and the truck was on it's side. They had to bust the front windshiled out and pull me out. I was pretty banged up, but my husband, he had a broken finger nail and that is all. We were very lucky. From being in the accident, I have L-3 and L-4 Vertabe damage. I am a poetress, and a gypsy at heart. I have done a lot of travel in my life. I also like to take pictrues of just about anything I find that moves me. I also am into ghost hunting and take photos at night time to find orbs and stuff like that. We have been married 16 beautiful years! We are blessed to have six nephews, five nieces, and two great-nephews! We share our home with our sweet cockitel Spike, who we have had since December 2003. He has one eye and a big attitude. He loves to sing, talk, and make us laugh. I have been writing since 1998, and I have over 3000 poems and some short stories. I will have my first book published in 2007...it is called "The Wonder of Christmas" and is a collection of Christmas poetry. I enjoy taking pictures, and I do as much as I can. I have gotten a digital camera, and I have been very busy enjoying taking pictures of my friends, and family. I love taking pictures of nature, and architecture. My mom says I am a sensitive person, who takes things way to personal. Well, I am the way that God made me! Perhaps that is why I am a poet...I see poetry in all things, I get lost in music, and dream in color. My grandma says that I take after her daddy because he was always writing funny stories and poems. She also says that I am a old soul who has lived many times. She also thinks that butterflies are my grandpa's spirit coming around. I am pretty easy to get along with, unless you lie to me, about me, or use me. And if you do those 3 things...well,Karma will catch up to you.
